Hi all you KoRn fans out there coming from a big city in a little province. I'm from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan not to be confused with saskatachoon from the place on Grown Ups. lol
I've seen KoRn once in my entire life. I was 20 years old and it was in Regina, Saskatchewan. The last time KoRn came to Saskatchewan was back in 99 on the Sick & Twisted Tour, I was a youngin and my older brother would not take me because he didn't want to watch over me while at the concert. But he made up for it.
All my life since 99 has been all about KoRn. My entire room had KoRn posters, flags and pin ups of the band. Some of them dated back to 97. That room was my pride and joy. I could just chill out in there for hours upon hours just headbanging to Korn. I've been a fan of them so long they always find some way of creeping into my life.
Hardly anyone understand my obsession with them but they've helped me with their musik through the toughest times in my life when I thought no one was there. But their musik just crept into my head and helped me realize that life is worth living and there is better stuff as long as you make it through the hard times.
Two years ago my brother told me Korn was coming to Regina. I was busy with school and finals and its hard to think where I had the time to even go to it since it was during finals. But my brother always felt bad about not taking me to that first concert. He bought me my first ever ticket to a Korn show. I'll always remember that day. Still have the stub sitting in my wallet. Not the same one since I was in the mosh pit though.
We got to the arena two hours before the show and stood in line for an hour and a half. There were loads of posers and what not. But you could see the real Korn fans standing out. I had dreads at the time and I enjoyed myself more than anything.
I made it to the front of the mosh pit. I was 7-8 feet from the 'gift of god'. OMG I was so ecstatic!!! I couldn't believe I was there. I could've easily jumped the fence and actually kissed the man of my dreams. :D But I'd rather much see him for two more hours and just stand there. I can't remember what really happened it all happened much much too fast. But I was this little chick 5'4 and I made it to the front. There was no way in hell I was going to leave that spot. I stood there the entire show and sang every song. It was my actual dream coming true.
That was nearly two years ago now. I still remember how close I was to them. I've dreamt of that since forever and I really owe my brother alot because he bought the tickets so early, we actually got mosh tickets. The venue was changed so whoever bought tickets at the other venue were all able to get into the mosh.
I never really got to thank my brother for that. Although I should. Hope this interested you all. Have a great week!
