Seems this is a problem in grocery stores worldwide... this is my peeve as well. I do my best to stay out of other peoples way, I expect them to do the same.
I tell my hubby this all the time when we get behind someone being inconsiderate........ "Congratulations honey, you just found the center of the universe"
Maybe next time you should just join in their conversation....
