Team Head vs. Team Jonathan?
If you don't already know there has been alot of drama between head and jonathan about koRns musical path. Jonathan wants to keep moving forward with the dubstep/metal genre they're creating while head has absolute no intrest and just wants metal. I read an interview ealier today of Jonathan talking about this subject and saying that head did leave the band 8 years ago and was kinda not so polite about it and KoRn already made there metal albums during that 8 year time period, that they need to enhance and experiment and not repeat the same musical pattern. I heavily agree on this. Another thing was I heard how KoRn was no longer going to play there hit singles "A.D.I.D.A.S." or "faget" anymore because head didn't want to. Okay I know head is a born again christian and stuff but so is fieldy and he didn't go all crazy when he found christ and go haywire on the band calling it quits and stuff like that. At times it sounds like they are better off without head, KoRn was creating a whole new genre and head is keeping them from discovering it because it's stepping out of his comfort zone. Yet st the same time with having head back it gives a bit more old school KoRn. In an interview with head he was saying he didn't like how Jonathan was trying to go all dubstep on KoRn and that was nit going to happen on the new album and he was happy that the new album was 95% metal and 5% electronica. This I do not agree on. I think KoRn should keep experimenting with the dubstep metal thing. The path of totality is a great album and there should be part 2. I didn't like on the new album, the paradigm shift, that the song 'never never' was kinda left out from thr other songs. It had too much electronica than the rest, I felt like it's the odd one out and it's was the one that was getting hate because it's a love song or something like that. I think KoRns next album should have more electronics but with heavy guitar riffs and drum beats. A 50% of each element. Now don't think I'm hating on head, I love head and Jonathan. But if I had to chose a team for music progression I would have to chose Team Jonathan because KoRn does need to move on and do what they love most discovering new elements of music. Head shouldn't come back and want things his way because he has a new lifestyle, he should understand that the band has grown emotionally and musically. Right after head left david soon called quits too, then the extremly talented Joey Jordison helped them out by helping to write and record the album 'untitled', only to then find Ray Luzier. Ray I think has brought life and a new light into the band, in my opinion the album 'remeber who you are' is the heaviest KoRn album yet. Who's team are you on? Why?
