I'm MikeyD and I have been a fan of Korn since the first time I saw the video for "Freak On A Leash". It was so different, so cool, and so so amazing that I gravitated towards it. I listened to "Follow the Leader" ad nauseum. To my parents dismay, I was listening to everything Korn, (and my parents are pretty cool people by the way, just a little scared from the sound of the band).
The pinnacle came with "Untouchables" (still my favourite)! The band was a cohesive musical machine.
Alas, I met my wife soon after and Korn was not to be listened to. Over the course of ten sometimes great, sometimes good, but mostly bad years, I became the "Liar" from the song on "See You On The Other Side".
We split a year ago, and while Christmas shopping with my son last year, I came upon "The Paradigm Shift". I bought the special edition and haven't stopped playing it! To hear Munky and Head together again with Fieldy holding them together and Ray driving them forward, Wow is all I can say.
And to Jonathan, I don't know how you did it, but everything I've been feeling for the past 12 months you laid bare on the album. Spike in my veins, Lullaby for a sadist, and Prey for me I could feel like nothing I've felt from music since One more Time and Here to stay.
Looking forward to when Korn comes to the Toronto area, because I know I will never forget the first time I see them!
Hey All, I heard a song on the radio at work the other day that I haven't heard in years. It was Genesis' "Land of Confusion". It took me back to my childhood with the crazy puppet video and the message of the world being such a messed up place at the time. I thought, you know this song really speaks to me today just like it did back then. I also thought, man I bet KoRn could really do...
