The sound of DVD cases bumping together as two t
eenage boys rummgage
through the shelf,
The sound of a granola bar wrapper as the guy beside
me eats his snack,
The sound of chattering libraury goers,
The bumping of books against the counter, as people
check out book, after book, after book,
The sound of people typing,
The sound of me typing,
and the sound of my own inner voice,
saying the words of this poem, inside my head
