Korn (1994) review

I'm going to give you my honest opinions of the songs off of Korn's first album from 1994. You don't have to agree with my ratings by the way. I'm a person who gives things a second chance, not every debut album is going to be a "zinger" all the way through am I right?!. Anyway let's talk about the first album.

1. BLIND - An awesome opener for the album, "Are you ready?!", I don't think a lot of people in the 90's were expecting this heavy shit! 5/5
2. BALL TONGUE - I listened to it a few times and it just doesn't do it for me, this is my least favorite song on here. 2/5
3. NEED TO - I like this one a lot but it's not my favorite on the album. 4/5
4. CLOWN - Awesome song, the music video is sick also. I like how you can hear them all talking in the background in the beginning, it felt very fresh and something you don't hear bands doing nowadays usually that stuff is cut out. 5/5
5. DEVINE - Awesome little song and it fits in nicely after "Clown". 5/5
6. FAGET - I've listened to it a few times like I did with "Ball Tongue" but it just didn't change my opinion very much. It's ok but I don't love it 3.5/5
7. SHOOTS AND LADDERS - A fan favorite but not mine. It's VERY repetitive but the beautiful bagpipes in the beginning make up for it. 3.5/5
8. PREDICTABLE - This is my favorite song on the album. 6/5
9. FAKE - It's a little bit better than "Ball Tongue" but not that much better 2.5/5
10. LIES - Awesome song very interesting. 5/5
11. HELMET IN THE BUSH - As weird as the name might be, the song is surprisingly cool I like it. 5/5
12. DADDY - With a song like this that talks about a child's troubled life with an abusive father really paints an intense but beautiful picture. These kind of songs are often the best written ones just ask Eminem. 5/5

What I was trying to say was the song "Daddy" has intense lyrics which is makes it really good. Eminem writes songs that are that way also, no they're not inspired by each other sorry for confusion.

but i do agree with you.. i was never a big fan of "Shoots n Ladders" either.. i love the opening of the song and the bagpipes, but other than that, that song really doesn't do anything for me...

EVERY Song on this Album BANGS!! i would Name my Favorites but then i'd be Naming the Whole Entire Album!.. i just Remember Listening to this Album after the "Grunge Period" in the 90's and KoRn just brought soo much Intensity and Passion with their Music.. i got Hooked to Jonathan Davis' Voice right off the bat
