Tool and recovery from depression
Now that I have been through an intensive 3 week program for mental health, I am finding that soooo much of what I've learned comes through in Tool's lyrics mostly in Lateralus. Parabloa is THE best recovery song EVER!! But I'm listening to Lateralus now, and most of the songs have SO much to do with "mindfulness" and living in the moment.
I embrace my desire to
I embrace my desire to
feel the rhythm, to feel connected enough to step aside and weep like a widow
to feel inspired to fathom the power, to witness the beauty,
to bathe in the fountain,
to swing on the spiral
to swing on the spiral
to swing on the spiral of our divinity and still be a human.
"With my feet upon the ground I move myeslf between the sounds and open wide to suck it in.
I feel it move across my skin.
I'm reaching up and reaching out. I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me.
what ever will bewilder me.
And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.
Spiral out. Keep going.
Spiral out. Keep going.
Spiral out. Keep going.
Our minds our always racing we never take the time to just stop and focus on all the things going on around us at that very moment, it could just be a little ladybug crawling on a leaf. But if we just stop, and just focus on the moment instead of always thinking ahead with our thoughts racing and worrying, we can take in all that's around us be calm.
Then when it comes time to face what it is what we were worrying about we can't focus because we have ourselves so worked up from all the worrying we've been doing. You ALWAYS have to be focused on the moment. As long as you are focused you can handle it.
" over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.
Withering my intuition leaving opportunities behind."
Never let your mind wander, STAY FOCUSED!!!
