Exploring Different Music Genres

I found out about Korn recently. I actually wanted to explore rock because I never got to explore it while growing up because of the people around me.

I did hear some bits of rock when I was younger but never explored it because no one around me seemed to be the same and liked other types of music. I did like the music they liked too but I also had a bit of other stuff inside me as well.

For some reason I had it in my head rock was uncool. I thought that was what people around me thought. I was young and didn't like to be left out and I did like their music too so it wasn't too bad I guess.

While I went to explore rock I never realized I'd end up liking metal. I was so sure I hated metal as I heard a tiny bit of it one time but not sure who that band was and believed all metal was the same after that so had it in my head I wouldn't like it.

Little did I know that I'd end up liking some metal after listening to Korn and some other bands including symphonic metal.

While growing up I've never bought different albums with the same artist. Korn are the first band I have bought more than one album from in my life. This has lead me to question myself all over again.

I know what you mean. Korn's the only band that I bought every studio album they have. Everyone else, I rarely bought more than one album. Cyndi Lauper, Depeche Mode, Metallica, Pantera, White/Rob Zombie, 311, Sublime, Prince, Disturbed, NIN, Lords of Acid...these are the few artists that I bought more than one album.

Cool, sounds like the less you care about what other people think the more you get into metal. Who knows where you will end up next, enjoy it all.
