Your First Korn Concert Experience!

Tue, Jun 28, 2011 at 10:13 AM

My first Korn concert should have been during their Life is Peachy tour but Munky had gotten sick so they cancelled. I got my chance (thanks to my cousin Zinnia) to see them a year later in Houston during their Follow the Leader tour. It was an amazing show! Hed-Pe and Orgy were the opening bands. Jay and Paige autographed my red Korn t-shirt which years later my now ex-wife accidently sent to the Salvation Army ***mental picture of a somalian kid wearing it***. They played a good setlist such as Kill You, My Gift to You, Dead Bodies Everywhere, and the regular touring tracks they play. I remember first getting there I was getting my floor bracelet and when walking towards the floor entrance some pothead approached me asking if I wanna sell my ticket? Even after being marked and scanned! Go figure I guess...I said no and he just stood there looking into oblivion. Overall the concert experience is one I still haven't forgotten and will never! For that whole year I was the most hated person in my small town because I had gone to the concert. Would have been better to receive a leaving or welcome back party like Longfellow Deeds but not in my small U.S./Mexican Border town. Its not really difficult to sort out those who know English or Spanish here. The English Kids would ask "Hey how was the Korn Concert?" while the Hispanic kids would ask, "how wass el concerto de Elote (spanish for Corn)?" LOL :D. Awwwww....a good times they were! :D Do you remember your first time? :D

My first show was a Metallica show the "Poor Touring Me" tour, and KoRn was opening, this was back in 1996, Dec. 21st, 1996 to be exact ;) I was 14 and ever since then I went to every show possible. That was when he was doing his rubberband thang as I call it. when he used to do his freak outs and fling his arms and head all crazy...its also the only show I seen Jonathan with out his shirt lol...ever since he's always wore tanks and tees..lol

My first KoRn show was Family Values Tour in 1998. Awesome! Remember every minute of it... (or at least what I think is every minute).. Who knows after a good time like that with loud music, hot sun and booze.... :)

Wasn't FVT 98 an arena tour?

My first was Rock Is Dead. My seats were lined up on Head and Fieldy's side. Was excited for this show because it was my first time for Korn and first time to see Rob Zombie solo (had already seen White Zombie 3x by then. I already had a copy of Follow The Leader and knew some songs from the first 2 albums. It was an amazing show. When they came back out to do Earache My Eye my friend and I were like "What are they doing?" Now, like I said I already had FTL and had listened to it several times...but I had always either started it over or put something else on after what I thought was the last song. So when they started EME my friend and I started laughing hysterically because we'd seen the movie so many times.

Well about a month our so later I was at home listening to FTL but fot whatever reason I didn't start it over or put something else in. I started hearing voices and looked out my window thinking someone was in the hallway. Then EME came on and I was laughing all over again when I realized it was on there the whole time

My first Korn concert was recently!

It was at Metaltown here in Sweden.
I worked there in the wardrobe. After my "shift" was over I went to meet up with some friends who attended the festival and to see some bands.

    One of them was Korn.
It was raining and it was cold and I didn't really have a good spot but is was awesome.
It made me feel so relaxed and happy and made it feel like the sun was shining!

My first Korn show was during the European leg of the tour in support of Untouchables back in august 2002, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Awesome show...support (Trust Co.) sucked, but I remember I was just so happy to see Korn lol. Met David outside the venue before the show (i actually wanted to meet Head :P) But all the other guys just ran inside the venue. David came out practicing with his drumsticks. The venue security sucked though. There weren't a lot of fans around when David came out. But they didn't let us approach him lol even though he said it was ok. So in the end we could get an autograph (i only had a piece of paper with me), but I had to give the piece of paper to a security guy, who gave it to David, and then back through the security guy to me. Pretty lame lol but oh well got an autograph, which was a huge deal back then to me haha.

My first Korn-show was during the Sick & Twisted tour in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Korn didn't play in Europe a lot back in those days (and I didn't have the money to go to festivals back then) so this was actually the first chance I got to see them. I remember going to the venue (now a 5 minute walk from where I live) really early. I was really excited of course.
P.O.D. was opening for Korn that tour and I remember being kind of disappointed since at first the rumor was Orgy would open for Korn. And since I was also a fan of Orgy, and didn't know P.O.D., I was kinda bummed out.
I think P.O.D. played for 30 minutes and then left the stage. Later I would get into P.O.D. though. So if they would open for Korn now I would appreciate it much more though.

Then when Korn came onstage it was like magic or something. I was like ''Oh man, there they are!''. I just went crazy for the full hour and a half they played. Also they did play the coolest setlist I have heard them play to date. There were all these songs that I haven't heard them play since. Songs like Good God, Faget, It's On! and more like those. Also during this tour J.D. had several stage outfits per show. Don't know if he did that before as well, but I haven't seen that after this show. I think this is still my favorite Korn-show I've seen.
It wasn't the complete original line-up since David didn't come along (I think there was something wrong with his wrist or hand or something) and the drummer-dude from Faith No More filled his place. But that show was just awesome.

KoRn was my FIRST concert ever. I saw them with Zombie back in ~98. It was f'n awesome! That was also back in the day when I had to get the parents to take me to concerts. I once won tickets to a KoRn show on the radio the night/early morning before the show which was over 2 hour drive that I got the parents to drive me and a friend to \m/.

I wish I could figure out all of the KoRn shows I have ever been too. Is there an archive of all of the past tours and dates somewhere?

Last.fm can help you out for most of the shows probably.
When you go to an artist page there you can go to tour dates and they have a pretty big archive of older shows (even from before that website was around) on there.

Haha, cool...your 2nd Korn show was my first then! Couldn't make it to FVT. Almost went to Lollapalooza, they weren't there anyway since Munk got sick before the Dallas show...and almost caught them with Megadeth but ended up doing something else (before I really knew about Korn
