Album is BADASS!

Tue, Oct 1, 2013 at 12:08 AM

Am I the only one here who has listened to this album in its entirety?

I'm still gonna buy it when it comes out.

Prey For Me is probably my favorite song, followed by Love and Meth, What We Do, Paranoid and Aroused, Tell Me What You Want

Victimized and Mass Hysteria follow closely behind.

I listened to it 5 times at work, and was amazed. There are about 2-3 songs I'm not a huge fan of, but that doesn't take away from it being a great album. Best of the year along with Ashes of Ares.

I am DEFINITELY buying the deluxe edition with the DVD, I HAVE to show support to them, as I have since 1994

Sorry, but has anyone else noticed that some of these tracks are full-fledged "Part 2's" of some songs on Issues??

"Mass Hysteria", sounds almost exactly like "No Way"
"Spike In My Veins" sounds like something they've done, can't point my finger on it...
"What We Do" is like the new "Freak on A Leash" *One of my favs off this*
"Tell Me What You Want" sounds similar to "Ya'll Wanna Single"
"It's All Wrong" sounds like another one of the tracks off issues, can't point at it yet.
"Lullaby For A Sadist" sounds like "No Ones There" from Untouchables.

Not saying this is all bad, just made me think "whoah, haven't I heard this somewhere before??"

Another thing I noticed is how much the sound (mix) sounds similar to Untouchables.

Ray sounds a lot like David on this record (even better) with the heavy drum sound, so hopefully that will put a stop to the David worshipping.lol

Lastly, Jons' vocals sound more like they did on Untouchables and Take A Look In the Mirror. However, they still don't beat Untouchables; something special happened with that album because his vocals sounded perfect and made the album have a dark, sinister atmosphere.

It's similar to Issues and Untouchables, yep I have to say that it could be an album between Issues and Untouchables, definitely... But just also for a resaon : it's a mix of all albums/sound (caus' there's a FTL's sounds too, LIP, and selft titled too), they've done, and it's the sound of KoRn. The sound of KoRn is back, and the return of Head is a good good thing, caus' it brings the sound he gives in, and it brings a real and true new power to the band, they seems really happy to do music again... That's why they had a badass sound now.. That's why we have impression that we know that sound, - and it's crazy caus' we feel that it's korn, and that it's a new sound - : caus' it's always KoRn but with a new sound, and that's what Ross said in who then now : "they are themselves", and this is an important face of the band now, they're back in their sound yep, but also like a band.

WOW... this album is all definitely badass. Went out and bought the CD this morning (being an Australian fan has some perks). I didn't see it in the racks and I was worried for a moment. I asked the friendly staff at the counter if it was in stock. Lo and behold, they had it.

As for the album itself... it's nice and heavy. The Korn kind of heavy, that is, and the electronics do not take away from the music at all. I think the electronics have more of an Orgy and Videodrone feel to them than a dubstep feel.

    The album is badass!
Feels like korn, sounds like korn. Just listened to album and watched dvd. Great! Some of the songs do remind me of other korn songs. After 11 albums im sure things repeat a little. I give it 2 thumbs up.

I caved and listened to MOST of it via Pandora stream and it is a very different sound and album compared to anything they have done before. I Love it! I cant wait to buy the deluxe edition and hear the two bonus tracks too.

But I do not understand why everyone is saying KoRn is back. In my opinion they never left, BUT the return to their old school sound in my opinion came on the album KORN III:REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE... Now THAT album was so bad ass! Easily my favorite album from them. It was a return to the good old days, meaning my memories with KoRn and all ive been through.

Paradigm Shift is awesome!! My only gripe is JD's growling. It seems fake, like synthesized and increased electronically. I wished he did more natural sounding. And my only other complaint is I wish there was atleast one track with an instrumental interlude like they did on Issues. And my last gripe is I didnt hear any scat? Unless I missed it? All these gripes are no big deal to me. I Love this album either way!

There is scat only on "Never, Never".
I agree Korn III, was a return to the old sound, mainly "Life Is Peachy" sound though. Like a bridge between that album and "Follow The Leader".

This album is like a bridge between "Issues" and "Untouchables".
