Jon v. Obama

Wed, Mar 14, 2012 at 3:00 AM

I'm going to preface this by saying, "If this isn't a stickied post on this forum, then it should be."

I have been a painfully loyal KoRn fan since Issues. I know that sounds like "wow, next thing you'll tell me you've been enjoying air since birth, right?" Sorry. I didn't know about the band at all until a friend invited me to a concert (at the ripe old age of 13). (Saw my first live breasts there. Sick and Twisted indeed, props, aw yeah, good job).

All that aside, I was hooked from that exposure. The music was amazing. The visuals were amazing. Afterward I listened to every song like it was being played at such a venue, every time. It's a powerful feeling for a young, naive teen.

For over a decade I've been able to enjoy Korn's music because it had branded me since youth. I didn't care. This shit was awesome.

Then I saw this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS9eOaSQwuI

What the hell? Is Jonathan Davis a closet republican or a crackpot? The latter is much more acceptable, but I wish someone could tell him to take a step back and think.

Less than a year ago, I heard he was going to DJ a local gig and I nearly lost my shit. Now I think he's a robot with bad programming.

Any thoughts? Any justifications?

And On the Cob, part of the tradition of being someone's fan is a certain level of involvement in their personal lives. I think of the music and the person making it as two separate entities, so my dislike for the musician doesn't affect my enjoyment of the music.

Your anti-Semitic customer was a bigot and an idiot. If he missed out on those bands, it's his loss. But paying attention to a musician's political opinions doesn't mean it will invalidate your musical experience. Some bands, namely with punk roots, are grounded in those opinions, and in that case their viewpoints can help inform and enhance your experience of their music.

JD's decision to vote is his, regardless of whether or not I agree with it. I don't think it's reasonable to quit listening to the music over that, but neither is it reasonable to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to a musician's political stance if you choose to be informed about the rest of their private lives.

The triangle symbol has been flashed rather often these days, and I would be extraordinarily surprised if it turned out to have some other meaning other than the one the OP assigned to it.

Hanabi, to answer your question... Mr.Davis' view on the Illuminati has been rather unclear. From what I gather, he says his family has been part of the Illuminati, and in chat he said that he's been groomed to be a Freemason from the age of 12.

... make what you will of that.

He also says he supports them, but somehow shorts contempt for them by saying that Obama is their puppet... which one would assume to be a good thing from his point of view.

    It's all rather convoluted.

    I see, thank you.

To be honest, I'm really confused by his beliefs, so I guess I'll just stick to his music.

The Illuminati are very much real. Jonathan is wise to see this.

    I agree.

An excellent musician (JD) has shown me I am not crazy after all, but quite sane. For me, it makes a difference in my world knowing some else out there knows what is happening.

The Illuminati, if they exist, are by definition covert, Therefore, by default it is impossible to accumulate enough evidence to prove their existence or relevance in world affairs.

Talking about being in a secret organization is laughable.

No pal. If you support Obama and the Democrats you have been brainwashed. They doubled the unemployment since they took over in 2008. They spent 3 times more money than any other President in hisotry in one term. He is the absoljute woirst President ever. Vote Romney if you want to have America back. If not the country is done. How is Obama a good president when he lost jobs and spent too much money? Wake up you idiots. Wake the Fuck Up like Korn says.

Firstly, I'm not American. Secondly, the global economic shit storm that lead to mass unemployment and international debt (that started in America under Bush btw) was down to the typically right wing plan of letting the rich get away with murder because they're rich. If you want to label anyone the Worst President EVAR then you had your chance between 2000 and 2008.

If I wanted you to spoon feed me FOX News propaganda I'd ask for it. So when you're done masturbating over Glenn Beck and Bill O maybe you you can come up with constructive criticism of your own.

This is to Misanthrope. You are brainwashed into believing Bush was a bad President. i am sure you are from Europe then? Because Europe is in shambles because they have been run by Left Wing Socialist for a long time and they have destroyed them. Look at Greece, iceland and France. All have the same beliefs as obama. You have to keep the rich happy and making money, they create jobs. We dont want food stamps and hand outs we want jobs. Having you own income allows you to go further in life. hand outs keeps u at the same level. Democrats/ Confederates love poverty. They are the racist who keep minorites locked up in the ghetto. Trust me I am ten times smarter then you because you support the ILLIMUNATI haha

Again you are misinformed/brainwashed. FOX news is the only channel that says the truth. The other stations are propaganda. Listen to the truth sayers in Glen Beck and Bill Oreilly before you sound like an idiot. And especially listen to Rush Limbaugh, he is the smartest man in politics on Earth. he should be President. Just listen to the show and hear the truth instead of being brainwashed like everyone else. Have a mind of your own.

You gotta love political threads! I'll just keep it short and simple. I will vote for anyone but Obama. We need change ;).

Passionately advocating Romney for president is like passionately advocating for John Wayne Gacy to run an orphanage.

Fox News can't be considered a news channel, period. At best it is an entertainment outlet. Objectivity is the cornerstone of reporting; Fox lacks it on every front.

As for Glen Beck and Bill O'Reilley... Beck is a soulless bigot, while Bill O'Reilley isn't harmful so much as he is incompetent.

Beck has openly claimed that Obama is extremely racist against white people, bitched out mourning 9/11 families, said that the only Katrina victims we've been seeing on the TV (namely low-income black families) are 'the scumbags', said that the victims of California wildfires had it coming becasue they hate America, accused the first Muslim congressman of working with the 'enemy', among other things.

He is a moron who doesn't have the humility to keep his idiocy to himself. Instead he spreads it like a plague, and people thank him for it.

Glen Beck is a soulless nut job who appealed to uneducated Americans. Fox news did one great thing ever and that was taking his stupidass off the air.

How many people out there like to FUCK!!!

No, it's pretty much due to paying attention during his 2 terms.

i am sure you are from Europe then? Because Europe is in shambles because they have been run by Left Wing Socialist for a long time and they have destroyed them.

Nope, pretty sure it's down to the economic shit storm that started in American banks. Greed is a bitch. Some countries have been hit harder than others, Greece and Iceland being 2, Portugal and Ireland being another 2. Interesting you bring up France, whose President is a confessed right-wing politician. The UK has had a centre-right government for the last 15 years. You spoon-fed FOX nonsense is, as usual, wrong.

All have the same beliefs as obama.

In Europe, Obama would be considered Conservative. He is not a socialist by any definition of the word.

You have to keep the rich happy and making money, they create jobs.

Bullshit. Trickle down economics never works because it assumes the rich aren't the greedy, self absorbed, amoral arseholes they demonstrably are.

We dont want food stamps and hand outs we want jobs. Having you own income allows you to go further in life.

Only if you have a job. Nice logic though, let the poor and jobless starve. MOAR JOBS FOR EVERYONE ELSE!

Democrats/ Confederates love poverty. They are the racist who keep minorites locked up in the ghetto.

A political party made up of people of different ethnic backgrounds headed by a mixed race President is racist? You're a fucking idiot.

Trust me I am ten times smarter then you because you support the ILLIMUNATI haha

You believe the Illuminati exists and you still think you're smarter than me? Yeah, ok.

I do not believe in the illimunati but Im open minded. it was a joke. Thereis obviously no hope for you. Democrats were the Confederacy. The leader of the south, jefferson Davis, was a Confederate. Things havnt changed. FDR came up with a plan to control minorities by placing them in segregated neighborhoods and feeding them government money so they are stuck there. His plan ewas also to make them feel like they get free stuff so they will vote Democrat. FDR was a democrat and his plan worked. Dems are very smart at brainwashing and you have to give them credit but they are indeed terrible people. They are the first to judge you by race, sex, and exterior. They hate jobs because they want to keep the money for themselves. Obama wasted billions on alternative energy companies, all of which went bankrupt and now they donated tons of money to Obama relelection campaign. They are corrupt, they are puppets, Jon Davis is my hero. A celebrity who isnt a brainless fool or an American who isnt tricked. Bush was a solid president. Kept unemployment down and fought terrorism. O yea Obama released terorrist. he may be a terrorist, he is a muslim thats certain. Listen to Ted Nugent too . I will see Korn and Nugent in concert, Hail Conservatism.

America, where your right to be fucking insane is constitutionally certified. In the UK we laugh at them, in the US they're elected.

Obama is as Muslim as I am, and I'm not a Muslim. Your religious devotion to the political right is nothing short of laughable. To consider Ted Nugent a valid political commentator is to truly nail your colours to the mast of idiocy.

He said he was a Muslim on national TV and he went to a church where the main guy is a Muslim. DOnt you tell me who is an American. Ted Nugent is from the heartland and is who the real Americans are. Not all of these rich politicians out there. But for real Democrats are ruining Europe and now the United States. its a shame we have so many misinformed/stupid voters. If you do some research you will see Democrats only win because they have the stupid vote. Obama won with young people who had no business voting. I was 19 in 2008 and there was brainwashing going on amongst us. its very sad.

People like you are the reason why I've been a hardcore democrat up to last summer. Thank god I actually got to talk to some intelligent conservatives who knew what the fuck they were talking about. If you want to advance the Republican agenda, you would do it a service by remaining silent.
