KORN ANNOUNCE US HEADLINING DATES & FESTIVALS FOR APRIL/ MAY

(New York, NY): Korn have announced another leg of their massively successful The Path of Totality tour. The band only just wrapped the second leg, which ran in late winter, packing houses and earning rave reviews along the way, featuring frontman Jonathan Davis spinning as his J Devil alter ego. Talented EDM artist Sluggo has also been opening on the tour, to great acclaim.

The next leg launches on April 20 and finds the band hitting several cities and amphitheaters in Texas, which will be a mix of headlining shows and festival dates.

Most of the dates go on sale March 8 and 9, with more dates to be announced soon. Sluggo, one of the hottest up and coming electro artists around, will support Korn on the headlining dates. Fresh off the hugely successful first round of live dates in support of their recently released album THE PATH OF TOTALITY (Roadrunner Records), KORN are returning to the road for the second leg of the Path of Totality Tour. The new batch of dates kicks off February 23 in Detroit, running through the mid-west before heading back west and wrapping up March 3 in San Francisco. Kill the Noise will provide support on certain dates, while KORN frontman Jonathan Davis will also debut his brand new DJ set as his J Devil alter ego.

s slithering textures actually suit Davis demented croon, particularly in the cuts produced by Skrillex, whos known Korn since his teenaged days as Sonny Moore (in the metalcore act From First to Last). For Narcissistic Cannibal, he accentuates the bands tortured-kid melancholy, while Chaos Lives in Everything grinds with convincing menace. (Lead single Get Up! is plain old block-rockin fun, with Davis ordering everybody to shut the fuck up over Skrillexs robot-barf beat.)Excision and Downlink provide the hardest-hitting groove in My Wall. And for Way Too Far, a march-tempo monster mash, 12th Planet jacks the bass and Davis reveals something else that he realized he could add to this fucking motherfucker: an auctioneers spiel.

Korn to Release 'The Path of Totality' in December, To Tour in November

Korn announced today that they will release their tenth studio album, The Path of Totality on December 6. But this is unlike any Korn record. It's even unlike any record released before.

The Path of Totality is an experimental album which finds Korn shifting gears and exploring new territory. That should hardly come as a shock to the band's diehard fans, as Korn exploded onto the scene in the'90s and established themselves as hard rock game changers from that point on.

For The Path of Totality, the band collaborated with some of the leading dubstep and electronic producers in the world, including Skrillex, Excision, Datsik, Noisia, Kill the Noise, and 12th Planet. The result is something completely new, yet utterly and definitively Korn. Leave it to a band like Korn to continue to reinvent itself two decades deep into its career.

"The title The Path of Totality refers to the fact that in order to see the sun in a full solar eclipse, you must be in the exact right place in the exact right time," Korn frontman Jonathan Davis explained. "That's how this album came together. I think all the producers feel the same way. I'm not sure it could ever happen again."

The band's recent (and much lauded) collaboration with dubstep's hottest producer, Skrillex, titled "Get Up!," was the surprise rock hit of the summer, the buzz of which started in Coachella's dance tent in April 2011, when Jonathan and Munky joined Skrillex on stage for a show stealing unannounced performance of the song.

That performance generated the start of a deafening buzz. The track has sold over 150,000 downloads, while the lyric video has generated nearly two million views and counting. The song was a top 10 rock radio hit.

Added James "Munky" Shaffer: "Get Up" started as a bit of an experiment, but we had such an amazing response from our fans and had such a great time collaborating that a full album of tracks came together in a couple of months. We couldn't wait to get to the studio every day to finish the next song."

Some of the song titles from The Path of Totality are: "Narcissistic Cannibal," "Burn the Obedient," "Illuminati," "Kill Mercy Within" and "Chaos Lives In Everything."

The album will be released in two configurations: as a standard 11-song CD and a special edition CD that will include bonus tracks as well as a DVD of The Encounter, a full-length video concert of Korn's mind-blowing, once-in-a-lifetime performance in the middle of a 900-foot long crop circle in a wheat field in Bakersfield. The complete concert, previously seen last year on TV and online in an abbreviated form, will be offered in its entirety to those who purchase the deluxe version.

Additionally, today Korn announced that the first leg of their "Path of Totality (P.O.T.)" tour will play key ballrooms and feature dubstep DJ's Datsik and Downlink, as well as young upstart Dutch Dub-rockers Dope D.O.D. Expect a groundbreaking experience unlike any other Korn tour.

Tickets to some of the shows go on sale this weekend to the general public, but pre-sale tickets are available now(free membership required for purchase) and brand new VIP packages starting Friday exclusively at korn.com.

Los Angeles, CA: The wait is almost over. Finally, it can be released that the highly-anticipated album by all-star band Fear & the Nervous System (FATNS), the brainchild of James Shaffer (KoRn), and also featuring Zac Baird (KoRn), Billy Gould (Faith No More), Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion), Steve Krolikowski (Repeater) and Leopold Ross will be out digitally on October 25, 2011. The album was produced by Jim Monti and Leo Ross. The track Choking Victim from the album was leaked and has been all over the Internet, garnering stellar reviews from both press and fans alike.

Fear & the Nervous System was an idea Shaffer had while on a long break after the release of KoRns Untitled album. He had the extremely cool epiphany of putting together a super group, comprised of top class musicians he admires and had become friends with. I had been sitting at home for too long of a time, Shaffer explains. When you are a creative person, you can't sit still for very long! Adds Bad Religion drummer Brooks Wackerman, The inception of FATNS began through Munk. After I did the KoRn record, he asked if i would be interested in playing on this music project, which was un-named at the time. Id had a great experience with him with KoRn, so I was eager to see what this was.

Zac Baird and I had worked on a few ideas while touring with KoRn, Shaffer continues. So, when we started to record, those song ideas were our jumping off point. But, 90% of the album was created on the spot, then recorded. We were lucky to get the people we wanted to become involved with the project. During the songwriting process, I wanted everyone to contribute equally, and feel open to try any and every idea they wanted. Then we would record it and see if it would work in any of the songs later. In the studio, it really began with Brooks laying down some amazing drum tracks for the rest of us to write and arrange the songs around. That is where most of the initial creative spark started. Also, I wanted to everyone to have a good time recording. There was no label (except myself) pushing any of us to do this or that, no scheduleswe all wanted to have fun and write some interesting music. Wackerman quips, Besides hiring a band therapist, I remember it going well. All kidding aside, it was one of the best sessions Ive had as a musician. I had a lot of freedom to experiment with. Most of these songs seemed to form in the studio, so we were able to go at it with different angles and maintain spontaneity throughout. Plus, the variety and quality of musicianship on this record added a lot to the sound. According to Faith No Mores always-gracious bassist Billy Gould, There are some stellar tracks on this album, and I have to say that James and the guys did a great job on it, and I tried to help where I could.

The band name itself, Fear and the Nervous System, pretty much says it all. The music fits the name: powerful, in-your-face and just a bit unsettlingin a good way. At the time of recording this album, I was, let's say, feeling unusual, Shaffer laughs. I was getting into lots of books, movies, and music. I had been listening to the album from the band Peeping Tom, thus I researched the 1959 movie Peeping Tom, where the band had gotten their name. The writer and the director's stories were very inspiring to me. After obsessively viewing the film, I discovered that one of the characters (a psychiatrist) in the movie had written a series of books called Fear and the Nervous System. In the movie, the characters father would conduct disturbing and frightful experiments on his son, then film and document them. "The first time I heard the name, I thought it represented the whole enchilada, Brooks agrees.

So what else is in the cards for FATNS? Besides world domination? Hopefully we can take this to the stage when our schedules allow it, Wackerman says. I think the fans would love to see FATNS live, and I know wed love doing it.
